The situation at the main ports in Nigeria remains a serious problem for importers. Tin Can Island and Apapa terminals in Lagos are currently facing severe vessel congestion caused by poor infrastructure and consequential traffic chaos. Shipping Lines are trying to alleviate the problem by moving containers to other terminals or transhipping via other ports in the region, but the situation is not improving and costs continue to soar. Reports indicate some vessels waiting more than 20 days to berth.
Some importers are choosing to route their cargo to the River State area where additional cargo has led to its own problems and a hike in costs from the shipping lines.
Freight Agency Ltd is able to offer the following choice of services to Nigerian ports offering our customers a number of options for shipping their cargo to Africa’s most populous country.
