Saving the company money and keeping us out of trouble, his knowledge prevents costly mistakes before they happen. His deep understanding of operations makes him invaluable for solving complex logistics challenges.
A keen walker who enjoys socialising, football, and music, Simon brings both expertise and personality to everything he does.
Richard Smith
Sales Director
Richard brings over 30 years of shipping and forwarding expertise to every client conversation. His career spans the entire transport process - from managing departments at major shipping lines to building relationships with suppliers and customers across the globe. Since joining Freight Agency in 2015, he's combined his deep industry knowledge with a genuine passion for helping clients solve complex logistics challenges.
When he's not working, you'll find Richard supporting Leicester City FC, playing cricket, or out running.

With more than 12 years navigating the complexities of international freight, Simon ensures our customers receive the expert guidance they need - whether they're in the UK or overseas. He makes regular trips to our Ghana office, working directly with the local team and meeting customers face-to-face to understand their evolving needs. Simon's hands-on approach means problems get solved quickly and relationships stay strong.
Outside work, he's passionate about cooking, staying fit, and spending quality time with his family.
Heather Stammers
Operations Manager
Joining in October 2012, Heather has progressed through the company to become Operations Manager. She's developed deep understanding across many areas of freight forwarding, bringing valuable expertise to her role coordinating daily operations and solving client challenges. Her comprehensive knowledge means shipments move efficiently and problems get addressed proactively.
In her spare time, Heather enjoys reading, baking, cake decorating, and family time.
Linda Wade
Branch Manager
Linda joined Freight Agency in December 2024, bringing her people management expertise to lead our operations team. Her main strength? Persistence, she doesn't give up until problems are solved and customers are happy. Linda's approach to management ensures smooth operations whilst keeping the team motivated and supported. Outside work, she enjoys walking, relaxing, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Fun fact: According to her husband, she has "sausage toes", though we think that's just his unique sense of humour!
James Stammers
Finance Manager
James joined in 2012 as purchase ledger clerk and progressed to Finance Manager, now overseeing day-to-day running of the finance department. He also manages our IT systems, ensuring technology supports efficient operations. His years with the company mean he understands how finance integrates with logistics operations.
James enjoys spending quality time with his family.
Andrew Dickson
Commercial Manager
Since joining in 2007, Andrew has built comprehensive expertise across all aspects of freight forwarding. As Commercial Manager, he oversees both import and export commercial teams whilst managing our Agency Department. His key strength lies in negotiating competitive rates and building strong relationships with shipping lines and suppliers - savings that benefit our clients directly.
A long-suffering Leeds United supporter, Andrew also enjoys golf and home improvement projects.
Spencer Stocker
Sales Manager
Spencer joined Freight Agency in February 2017, bringing over 40 years of shipping industry experience. His main responsibility is bringing new business to the company, and his extensive knowledge makes him highly respected in the UK export market. Having worked for global carriers and specialist Africa shipping lines, Spencer has travelled throughout Europe and West Africa, building the relationships and understanding that help clients navigate complex shipping scenarios.
Outside work, he enjoys travelling, cooking, and following Arsenal FC—though decades in shipping haven't managed to convert him to a Yorkshire team!
Alex Stacey
Sales Manager
Alex joined the team in 2023 after spending five years developing his expertise across sales and operations roles. He's particularly skilled in handling specialist cargo - from breakbulk to out-of-gauge projects that require creative solutions and meticulous planning.
Based in Sheffield but a dedicated Arsenal FC supporter, Alex brings enthusiasm and technical know-how to every client challenge.
Taib Ait Malek
Sales Manager
Taib Ait Malek is an accomplished commercial manager with over 15 years of experience in the international freight and logistics sector. His career spans major global markets, including the Middle East, where he served in Dubai and Riyadh and the United Kingdom, where he played a pivotal role in supporting international freight groups expanding toward the Middle Eastern region.
Throughout his career, Taib has built a strong reputation for commercial development, strategic partnerships, and long-term relationship building across diverse markets. His deep understanding of trade dynamics within the Gulf region has enabled him to guide companies through complex commercial landscapes, fostering growth and solidifying market presence.
Temitope Falana
Strategic Marketing Lead
Temitope Falana serves as Strategic Marketing Lead at Freight Agency Limited, working as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate in collaboration with Leeds Beckett University. Prior to joining Freight Agency, Temitope built extensive experience across telecommunications and banking sectors, demonstrating a track record of revenue generation and team leadership.
James Parkinson
Logistics Team Leader
Since joining in September 2014, James has become a senior member of our Logistics Team with one clear mission: keeping Simon Thornton and his customers happy. His extensive knowledge of logistics operations and problem-solving abilities make him the go-to person when complex issues arise. James coordinates cross-trade business and is trained in UK customs clearance and hazardous cargo handling. Outside work, he enjoys snooker and cooking.
Hidden talent: James can do a backflip.
Holly Bayliss
Cell Team Member
Holly joined in May 2021, initially handling shipping documentation before moving to our Operations Cell Team where she provides hands-on service for a range of customers. Her attention to detail ensures documentation is accurate and shipments move without delays.
Holly enjoys walking, making videos of her dog for social media, knitting, and painting.
Elise Wood
Agency Co-ordinator
With several years of industry experience across sea freight, air freight, and road transport - handling both exports and imports - Elise joined the Agency team in November 2022. Her broad knowledge base makes her an asset when coordinating complex international movements.
In her spare time, she enjoys walking with her dog and spending time with family and friends.
Margo Banasiak
Internal Sales Team Lead
Margo joined Freight Agency in December 2023 after completing her BIFA course and changing careers from teaching to freight forwarding. As Internal Sales Team Lead, she provides quotes to customers and external sales teams, using her excellent people skills to ensure clear communication and responsive service. Her teaching background means she's particularly good at explaining complex logistics to clients in straightforward terms.
Margo loves literature, art, and gardening, and has an interesting ambition: she wants to live in Turkey, perhaps combining her love of culture with her freight expertise in the future!
Fiona Stanley
Credit Controller
Fiona joined the Finance Team in September 2011, managing credit control with a perfect balance of professionalism and personality. She chases debt, checks payments received, and makes payments to suppliers, all whilst maintaining positive client relationships. Her understanding and patience ensure financial matters are handled smoothly without damaging the personal connections we value. Outside work, Fiona loves Zumba and Salsa and is an active member of North Church Leeds.
Fun fact: She used to be a TV extra on Brookside, Hollyoaks, and Coronation Street, so if freight forwarding doesn't work out, she's got a backup career!
Lauren Dibb
Customs Specialist
Lauren brings a decade of experience within the freight forwarding industry. Having discovered her passion for customs regulations and compliance, she now serves as Freight Agency's Customs Specialist, providing expert guidance on international trade requirements. Her extensive knowledge ensures seamless customs clearance for clients navigating complex cross-border shipments. Luke Creasey
Commercial Specialist
Luke has been with the company since June 2013, building his career from the bookings department to Commercial Specialist. His proactive and solutions-oriented approach ensures competitive rates and reliable service. Luke has developed strong relationships with all major shipping lines, making him invaluable for securing space and navigating market challenges.
A Bradford City season ticket holder for over 10 years, he also enjoys clay shooting and time at the pub with friends.
Kate Charlesworth
Cell Team Member
Since June 2017, Kate has developed comprehensive knowledge in preparing bills of lading, cargo tracking notes, and all relevant export documentation. Her expertise ensures shipments meet regulatory requirements and clear customs smoothly.
Kate is proud to have a twin sister, volunteers for the Sea Cadet Corps, and serves as a fully trained Special Constable for West Yorkshire Police.
Adam Hickman
Cell Team Member
Adam has a solid background in warehousing and logistics and now works in operations, handling bookings and keeping day-to-day activities running smoothly. He is recognised for his organisational skills, collaborative approach, and readiness to assist when quick solutions are needed. Outside of work, Adam enjoys long walks with his dogs and staying active at the gym. Whether problem-solving at work or maintaining his fitness routine, Adam brings a positive and down-to-earth attitude to everything he does.

Kayleigh joined the Operations Team in June 2025, coordinating West Africa operations with exceptional attention to detail. Working with our Ghana office, she provides crucial coordination for UK-Africa trade lanes.

She previously worked within the freight forwarding industry in both operational administration and sales departments, joining Freight Agency in September 2024. Daisy joined our Agency Team in January 2024, bringing five years of import experience and specialised training in dangerous goods via air. She manages imports whilst assisting with LCL, air freight, cross-trade shipments, and quotes making her a versatile problem-solver for diverse client needs. Freight forwarding runs in her family, so joining the industry felt like destiny.

Wayne's been with Freight Agency since 1996, accumulating invaluable shipping industry experience and becoming our expert freight rate analyst. His decades with the company mean he understands the market deeply and can quickly identify the most cost-effective solutions for clients. Wayne concentrates on sales roles across the business, using his expertise to match clients with the right services.
Outside work, he enjoys live comedy, live music, and following Leeds United.
Anisha Hussain
Commercial Coordinator (Pricing)
Anisha joined the Sales Team in April 2025, focusing on customer enquiries and pricing. Her exceptional customer communication skills and strong service ethic ensure clients receive clear, helpful responses and competitive rates. She brings a proactive approach to understanding client needs and finding the right solutions. Outside work, Anisha enjoys physical activities like bowling and attending educational classes, always keen to learn and stay active.

Lucy Kinsella
Finance Assistant
Lucy started with Freight Agency in 2011 in the bookings department but pursued her interest in accounts, switching departments in January 2020. She manages customer accounts, payment allocation, and document release. Lucy's background in operations gives her valuable context for understanding the business beyond finance.

Oliver Jake Briggs

Having worked in accounting firms across Yorkshire, Oliver joined the Freight Agency accounts team as a Finance Assistant in 2025. He supports day-to-day bookkeeping operations, manages payroll processing, and assists with management accounts preparation for the company. Abraham Atobra
Regional Manager
Based in Tema, Ghana, Abraham joined us in 2009 and brings over 18 years of shipping industry experience. As our West Africa Regional Manager, he manages our regional offices and provides crucial on-the-ground support for all West African customers. His local knowledge and established relationships make him invaluable for navigating regional port operations and customs procedures. Abraham is quick to learn and continuously seeks new skills.
His spare time is devoted to family, reading, watching football, family films, and active involvement in his local church.
Bernard Kwasi Mornyuie
Sales Executive
Bernard joined Freight Agency in 2010 as our Sales Executive, responsible for growing new business whilst maintaining strong relationships with valued customers. A qualified statistician, Bernard once dreamt he was the Government Statistician using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test - reflecting his analytical approach to solving client challenges.
He's passionate about current affairs and brings both technical expertise and commercial understanding to his role.
Nelly Dooso
Office Administrator
Nelly has been our Ghana Office Administrator since 2009, supporting the Local Manager to ensure smooth daily operations. Her organisational skills and local knowledge keep everything running efficiently.
Outside work, Nelly enjoys travelling, volunteer work, childcare, community involvement, and stamp collecting.
Michael Otti-Aning
Sales Officer
Michael joined in 2010 and works in the Tema office as our Port Representative. He liaises daily with shipping lines and terminals, finding solutions to customer challenges and ensuring smooth cargo movement through the port.
An organist and choirmaster at church, Michael's favourite classical pieces include Handel's Hallelujah Chorus, Beethoven's Für Elise, and Ghana's National Anthem.
Maxwell Mensah
Sales Representative
Maxwell joined in 2009 as our Sales Representative based in Kumasi, where he promotes the Freight Agency brand and maintains relationships with existing customers across the region. His local presence means customers have accessible support outside the port area. Maxwell is an ordained Christian minister who enjoys reading, listening to music, and watching wrestling in his spare time.
