条款和条件
The following terms apply to quotations, bookings and services provided by Freight Agency Limited (“FAL”), together with the applicable British International Freight Association (BIFA) Standard Trading Conditions.
Where required by applicable customs legislation, the shipper/exporter must hold a valid EORI number and provide this to Freight Agency Limited upon request.
The shipper is responsible for ensuring that it holds all registrations, licences, permits and authorisations required for the export, transit and import of the goods.
At the time of booking, Freight Agency Limited will endeavour to request equipment suitable for the anticipated cargo weight and payload. Equipment type and payload cannot be guaranteed.
The customer must check the permitted payload of the container before loading and ensure that the maximum permitted gross weight is not exceeded.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that the collection/loading site is suitable, safe, secure and legally accessible for the vehicle and equipment required and that appropriate arrangements are in place for safe loading.
Collection, positioning and delivery times are estimates unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.
Freight Agency Limited shall not be liable for delays arising from circumstances outside its reasonable control, subject always to the applicable BIFA Standard Trading Conditions.
Loading time included within the quotation will be stated where applicable.
Where the time taken to load or unload exceeds the time allowed within the quotation or booking, waiting time, detention and/or other additional charges may be applied at the applicable rate.
Haulage amendments or cancellations made within 48 working hours of the scheduled collection or loading time may incur cancellation charges, wasted journey charges and/or other charges levied by our suppliers.
Where a container seal is required, the customer must ensure that an appropriate seal is fitted and that the correct seal number is provided to Freight Agency Limited.
Any costs, delays or charges resulting from the failure to provide, fit or correctly record a seal may be charged to the customer where applicable.
The customer is responsible for providing complete and accurate cargo information, including the description, quantity, weight, dimensions, packaging and, where applicable, commodity, customs and dangerous-goods information.
Unless Freight Agency Limited has specifically contracted to undertake loading, packing or securing, responsibility for the safe and adequate packing, loading and securing of the cargo remains with the customer.
Any costs or liabilities arising from inaccurate, incomplete or misleading cargo information may be passed to the customer in accordance with the applicable contract and trading conditions.
Rates are based on the weights, dimensions, volumes and cargo information provided at the quotation stage.
Any difference between the information supplied and the actual cargo presented for shipment may result in revised freight, handling, haulage and/or other additional charges.
Vehicles, machinery and vehicle parts must be prepared for shipment in accordance with the requirements of the relevant shipping line, port, competent authority and destination country.
Where required, vehicles, machinery or parts must be drained or otherwise appropriately prepared for transport, and supporting documentation must be made available upon request.
Customers must provide any MOT, vehicle-condition, repairability, ownership, HPI, de-pollution or other documentation requested by Freight Agency Limited, the carrier, port, customs authority or other competent authority.
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the documentation supplied is accurate, valid and applicable to the vehicle being shipped.
Electric, Dual Fuel and hybrid vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles and other equipment containing lithium batteries must be declared to Freight Agency Limited at the quotation and booking stage.
The customer must provide all information and documentation necessary to determine the applicable dangerous-goods classification and carrier requirements.
Acceptance of such cargo is subject to the applicable dangerous-goods requirements and approval by Freight Agency Limited, the carrier and any other relevant party.
All documentation relating to vehicles, batteries, de-pollution, ownership, condition or other regulatory requirements must be readily available and supplied to Freight Agency Limited upon request.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that cargo and containers do not exceed any applicable legal, carrier, equipment, road or terminal weight limits.
Containers found to be overweight may be subject to re-working, re-weighing, transport, handling, storage, administration, penalties or other charges imposed by the carrier, terminal, haulier or other relevant party.
Such charges may be passed to the customer where applicable.
Complete and accurate shipping instructions, quoting the applicable Freight Agency Limited booking/reference number, must be provided within the time stated by Freight Agency Limited and/or the carrier.
Unless otherwise advised, shipping instructions should be supplied within 24 hours of loading.
Late, incomplete or inaccurate instructions may result in amendment fees, storage, rollover, delay or other additional charges, which may be charged to the customer where applicable.
Cargo/Marine Insurance is not included unless expressly stated in our quotation or otherwise agreed in writing.
Customers should arrange appropriate cargo insurance for the full duration and value of the shipment.
Freight Agency Limited can advise whether insurance arrangements are available upon request.
Dangerous or hazardous goods must be fully declared at the quotation and booking stage.
The customer is responsible for providing the correct classification, UN number where applicable, packing information and all documentation required under the applicable dangerous-goods regulations.
Acceptance is subject to approval by Freight Agency Limited, the carrier and, where applicable, the destination agent, port, terminal or other relevant authority.
Failure to correctly declare dangerous or hazardous cargo may result in refusal, delay, removal, storage, penalties and/or other charges for which the customer may be responsible.
Gas bottles, cylinders and other pressurised receptacles must not be loaded unless they have been declared in advance and expressly accepted by Freight Agency Limited and the relevant carrier.
Undeclared prohibited or dangerous goods may be refused, removed or otherwise dealt with in accordance with applicable carrier requirements and trading conditions.
Any resulting costs may be charged to the customer where applicable.
Used electrical and electronic equipment must comply with all applicable environmental, waste and export requirements.
Where required, the customer must provide satisfactory evidence that equipment is functional and is being exported as a product rather than as waste, together with any testing, inspection or other supporting documentation requested by Freight Agency Limited, the carrier or a competent authority.
Freight Agency Limited reserves the right to refuse cargo where satisfactory evidence of its status, condition or compliance is not provided.
Any costs arising from inspection, detention, rejection, return or other action resulting from inaccurate or insufficient information may be charged to the customer where applicable.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that the consignee completes customs clearance and takes delivery of the cargo and/or container promptly at destination.
Demurrage, detention, storage, quay rent, port charges, customs charges, abandonment, disposal, destruction, return and other charges resulting from delayed or failed clearance or collection may be charged to the booking party/customer where applicable under the relevant contract and trading conditions.
Unless credit terms have previously been agreed by Freight Agency Limited in writing, shipments are undertaken on a cash and documents basis.
Invoices and other charges are payable in accordance with the payment terms stated on the applicable quotation, booking confirmation or invoice.
All business undertaken by Freight Agency Limited is subject to the British International Freight Association (BIFA) Standard Trading Conditions 2025 applicable to the transaction, a copy of which is available on request and/or through the link provided with these terms.
The shipper is responsible for providing an accurate Verified Gross Mass (VGM) in accordance with applicable SOLAS requirements and the requirements of the carrier and terminal.
Where an incorrect or inaccurate VGM results in re-weighing, amendment, administration, handling or other charges, those charges may be passed to the customer.
Where a carrier, terminal or service provider applies a VGM discrepancy charge because the declared weight differs from the verified weight beyond its permitted tolerance, the applicable charge may be passed to the customer retrospectively.
Freight Agency Limited can arrange a VGM service on the customer’s behalf, where available, at the applicable rate quoted at the time of booking.
