Freight Agency recently organised a charity shipment to the British Virgin Island (BVI) for Cycles 4 the Caribbean. This organisation was set up by Merseyside Police in order to help those who suffered following the two Category 5 Hurricanes Irma and Maria which caused catastrophic damage in the Caribbean during September 2017.
The initiative was set up by PC Dan Holdsworth in order to make good use of bicycles that have been lost, stolen and recovered but not reclaimed and donated by a number of police forces throughout the UK. In addition two off road motor bikes and other items of police equipment were also collected.
Freight Agency arranged for a 40’ container to be delivered to a storage depot in Liverpool for loading and then shipped the container to the port of Road Town on the Island of Tortola, the capital of BVI. This container sailed on AS Paulina from London Gateway and is due to arrive on 23rd July and will be met by Dan and his colleagues in order to distribute the bicycles to local people and hand over the police equipment to the BVI Police Force.
Freight Agency Ltd is honoured to assist in this extremely worthwhile cause.
