Peak Season Surcharge / General Rate Increase

Peak Season Surcharge / General Rate Increase

Please be advised that Mediterranean Shipping Company Ltd and CMA-CGM Ltd are introducing a peak season surcharge (PSS) to all West African ports, ex NWC (North West Continent) including the UK. The PSS will apply to all cargo shipping from 1st May 2017 until further notice.

The PSS has been introduced by the lines after careful review and in depth discussion. However, due to a prolonged period of severe overbooking on the NWC West Africa trade lane, they have had no options but to introduce the charge to ensure future stability.

Please see the levels as follows:

MSC – GBP75 per 20’ and GBP150 per 40’
CMACGM – GBP85 per 20’ and GBP170 per 40’

Maersk line have also announced a separate general rate increase as follows:

Maersk – GBP25 per 20’ and GBP50 per 40’
